Violin Studio 101: Get Connected

During quarantine, in addition to taking long walks and eating too much chocolate, I’ve enjoyed having extra time to immerse myself in professional development, particularly as it pertains to writing and music pedagogy.

After over a decade of violin teaching experience and nearly nine years of running my own studio, I figured it was time to re-examine my methods. I’ve used these months to take a good look at which techniques I’ve found successful, and which areas leave room for improvement.

Rather than reinvent the wheel, I want to share the resources that have been most beneficial to me over the years. I hope my own experiences and those of my colleagues will benefit new teachers as they develop their own music studios.
